This year BUIRA is organising a half-day pre-conference Doctoral Workshop, which will take place in person on Monday 27th June 2022in the afternoon (a day prior to the main BUIRA Annual Conference on 28th-30th June 2022) at the University of Birmingham. The workshop will take a critical friend format, whereby participants at any stage of their PhD journey will receive and provide constructive feedback on their work by an expert in their field and a group of PhD’s working on similar topics.  This format follows the success of last year’s session run by Professor Miguel Martinez Lucio in 2021 and offers a unique opportunity to get to know fellow academics and postgraduate research students in the field, exercise critical thinking and receive constructive feedback on your ideas from an expert outside of your supervisory team.

Please submit an abstract to register your interest by Friday 15th April 2022. We will then be in touch to confirm your place. The deadline for the ‘full paper’ or any written work you intend to submit is Friday 3rd June 2022 (no longer than 4000 words) Please submit via e-mail: admin@buira.org

We are also now accepting submissions for the Doctoral Prize linked to the 2022 BUIRA conference, sponsored by the BJIR (see details attached). Please also note that we are happy to accept the same submission for both the Doctoral Workshop and the Doctoral Prize.
