On 29th September, the Centre for Decent Work at the University of Sheffield will co-host a half-day online conference focusing on Employment Rights, Regulation & Resolution. Of interest to policymakers, HR and employment law practitioners, union officials/reps, small businesses,  mediators and academics, the event will focus on questions including the balance between rights and resolution and what we can do to create and sustain better and fairer workplaces, more engaged workforces and more productive work.
Hosted in conjunction with the PrOPEL Hub, Acas and the Civil Mediation Council, Professors Jason Heyes and Paul Latreille from CDW/Sheffield University Management School and Professor Richard Saundry from the University of Westminster will be in conversation with (respectively) Paul Nowak (General Secretary-elect of the TUC), Clare Chapman (Chair of Acas), and Peter Cheese (Chief Executive of the CIPD).
Other contributors to the event include Mike Clancy (General Secretary, Prospect), Martin McTague (National Chair, Federation of Small Business), Caroline Sheridan (Civil Mediation Council), Rachel Suff (Senior Policy Adviser, CIPD), Gill Dix (Head of Workplace Policy, Acas), and academics Professor Patricia Findlay (University of Strathclyde), Professor Alan Bogg (University of Bristol) and Professor Ed Heery (Cardiff Business School).
