From Monday 19th June to Saturday 24th June 2023 the Employment Relations & HRM Group at UCD School of Business and the ERC Research Group ‘Labour Politics & the EU’s New Economic Governance regime’ at the UCD Geary Institute for Public Policy are hosting a doctoral workshop on research quality and productivity to be led by Professor Sarosh Kuruvilla from the ILR School at Cornell University.

The syllabus for last year’s workshop can be viewed here.

Testimonials from participants of previous workshops can be read here.

BUIRA is able to support a limited number of PhD students who would benefit from participation in the workshop. Funding from the Association will cover the cost of accommodation and subsistence (€525). There is no fee for attending the workshop – Professor Kuruvilla will be delivering the workshop pro bono.

You will need to check possible visa requirements. Ireland has a list of Non-Visa Required Nationalities and the documents needed at Border Control for entry. If you require a visa, single entry cost is €60 (payable by the student). There is also a Short Stay Visa Waiver Program that enables people who are in the UK on a short-term visa to use their remaining valid visa days to visit Ireland.

PhD students are advised to consult their supervisory team to establish whether they will benefit from attendance at the workshop.

If you are keen to apply, please email Professor Peter Turnbull, the BUIRA President (peter.turnbull@bristol.ac.uk), with a one-page document briefly detailing your PhD topic, progress to date, and why the workshop will benefit your research.

Deadline: Monday 3rd April 17:00
